In October 2007, the GPC helped coordinate one amazing road trip for the growers of the only 1600 pound pumpkins to date. Coming from as far away as Des Moines, Iowa, western New York State, and Rhode Island; the growers met first in Connecticut where they all loaded onto a trailer for their trip into New York City. The growers and their pumpkins were featured on Good Morning America on October 29, where Joe Jutras was presented with his official certificate of World Record by a representative from Guinness World Records.
